El Observatorio de la Violencia en las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación (TIC) es una iniciativa pionera en el tema. El objetivo del Observatorio es ser um espacio multidisciplinario y transnacional de reunión y articulación entre investigadores, educadores, administradores y otros profesionales interesados en la comprensión y el análisis de nuevas formas de violencia propagadas en las TIC, así como un lugar para que todos los interesados en el tema puedan ter acceso a informaciones.

Las TIC son parte de un continuo de tecnologías que pueden utilizarse para documentar y difundir las diversas situaciones de violencia. Queremos con el Observatorio crear una amplia red de expertos e interesados en el área a fin de que sea posible conocer esta cuestión en toda su complejidad.

THE internet is full of stuff of which China’s government disapproves. Yet there are 300m Chinese internet-users. Keeping the two apart has embroiled the Chinese authorities in a long cat-and-mouse struggle. Service-providers and internet cafés are closely supervised, and a wide array of filtering mechanisms already overlays the national internet architecture. A fresh initiative goes one step further. From July 1st every personal computer sold in China will have to come with new filtering software called Green Dam Youth Escort.

The Chinese Health Ministry on Thursday ordered sharp restrictions on Internet access to medical research papers on sexual subjects. It is the latest move in what the ministry calls an antipornography campaign that many China experts see as a harbinger of a broader crackdown on freedom of expression and dissent.
