O Observatório Latino-Americano de Violência nas Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TICs) é uma iniciativa pioneira na temática. O objetivo do Observatório é que seja um espaço multidisciplinar e transnacional de encontro e articulação entre pesquisadores, educadores, gestores e demais profissionais interessados na compreensão e análise das novas formas de violência disseminadas pelas TICs, assim como um lugar para que os interessados no tema possam encontrar informação.
As TICs são parte de um contínuo de tecnologias que podem ser usadas para documentar e difundir diversas situações de violência. Pretende-se com o Observatório criar uma ampla rede de especialistas e interessados na área de forma a tornar possível conhecer essa temática em toda a sua complexidade.
