LATIN (Latin American Technological Information Network), Instituto Sangari, the Ministry of Health and the Ministy of Justice launched the “Map of the Violence of the Brazilian Municipalities 2008”.

 

This is the second publication about this subject. It analyzes the evolution of the death rates in the 5564 municipalities of Brazil, that occurred between 2004 and 2006. The book aims to offer statistic subsidies for a local diagnostic focused in the reality of the fatal violence. The Map of the Violence of the Brazilian Municipalities 2008 provides information and indicators about mortality based in the last data available of the Health Ministry. To calculate the mortality rates the study used inter-censitarian estimative of DATASUS and the recounting of the population included in the IBGE census of 2007
